We have a new 4th Physio
05.01.2021
After graduating from the University of Liverpool in 2012, Emma started her career in the NHS working as a rotational Physiotherapist. In 2016 to further her experience, she moved to Australia and worked in a specialist sports clinic in Sydney developing a wealth of expertise in musculoskeletal injuries and sports medicine. On returning home in 2019 she has progressed through to becoming a Specialist in the NHS within the musculoskeletal field and is currently completing a masters in Sports and Exercise Medicine.
In addition to her work within the NHS and privately, Emma has worked with several sports teams through her career. Her clinical interests are spinal pain, rehabilitation of sports injuries and Pilates.
Personally Emma continues to play Gaelic football and has a keen interest in running and swimming, competing in the odd triathlon.

10.08.2020
We are delighted to post that we are back to our pre COVID-19 complement of staff with 3 Physiotherapists and our Podiatrist back available for appointments.
We are still taking patient and staff safety very seriously with all PPE in place whilst maintaining patient social distancing through the building and our stringent cleansing and sanitising regime.
We’re here for you when you need us.

Welcome Ally!
01.08.2020
Belfast Sports and Spinal would like to welcome Ally McKeown to the clinic as we say sadly goodbye to Barney who has now returned to the NHS.
Ally qualified from the University Of Ulster in 2007 and moved into a job in the NHS as a rotational physiotherapist. He has progressed through several different roles including senior musculoskeletal therapist, orthopaedic triage, emergency department MSK physio and more recently an advanced first contact physio. He has also provided physio for the Antrim GAA minor/U21/Senior squads, Ireland Masters GAA Comp Rules series, Ulster GAA Railway Cup and Portadown FC.
Alongside his NHS and sporting commitments, he has always demonstrated a strong work ethic by working privately for over 10 years and has built up a wealth of experience along the way. His clinical interests are spinal pain, persistent pain, sports injuries, pre/rehab for operative procedures and is very passionate about rehabilitation, not just for the sporty individual.
He also has a keen interest in running on all terrains, skiing, cycling and gym work.

Current position with Covid-19
08.06.2020
With our governing body the CSP now giving us some guidance on when we can see patients face to face, we are now in the position to see emergency cases and those not appropriate for virtual treatment.
We have created new Covid-19 policies and procedure documents and provided all the necessary training to our staff. We also have at hand all the necessary PPE to keep everybody as safe as possible including non-contact thermometers, masks, gloves and aprons.
Virtual appointments remain our primary way of assessing and treating patients and is an incredibly successful way to provide advice and rehab programs to patients in the safety and comfort of their own homes, but if this not appropriate or you are an emergency case we now have a plan B.

Current position with Covid-19
12.05.2020
At present we still remain closed for all face to face appointments, adhering to the current government social distancing rules…..but we are ready to open as soon as we are allowed to do so.
We have created new Covid-19 policies and procedure documents and provided all the necessary training to our staff. We also have at hand all the necessary PPE to keep everybody as safe as possible including non-contact thermometers, masks, gloves and aprons.
Virtual appointments remain our current way of assessing and treating patients and is an incredibly successful way to provide advice and rehab programs to patients in the safety and comfort of their own homes. If you can’t come to us, then we can come to you (through your screens at least). Please note that all major insurance companies are currently supporting this as a viable option for treatment and can still be accessed through the normal channels.
This is a learning curve with sacrifices and compromises for us all, but we will get through this and be in a better place on the other side.

YouTube Channel Up Grade
24.04.2020
To back up the rehab programs that we currently provide, we have added significantly to our YouTube channel.
There are now over 160 rehab exercises to help assist you. Showing how the exercises are to be performed.
Tap anywhere on this box to take you to the channel and happy viewing.

COVID-19 Update
20.03.2020
As we progress through the ever-changing situation of the COVID-19 virus we want to communicate our current position.
We are currently closed to face to face appointments but are offering virtual appointments using Skype, Zoom, FaceTime or WhatsApp video to conduct assessments and review appointments. This gives us the ability to provide advice and exercise programs that are then backed up with email support.
Normal service will resume as soon as possible.
Stay safe, look after each other and we will get through this together!
Thank you for your understanding and support during this time.
